I am madly in love with my 913 D3 Titleist driver. It's multi-faceted components are compatible to an outfit that is tailored to my own personal specifications. The SureFit tour hosel makes the club fit my game like a couture dress on the runway and performs exceptionally well on the fairway. It can be set to various specs to a loft and lie of your choice. My personal preference is on setting B2. Another unique feature is the interchangeable weight that is placed on the bottom of the club head to create less spin for optimum launch and maximum distance. My favorite is the 14 gram weight because it supports my Pro Force 65oz stiff shaft. For players looking to purchase a driver off the rack with a stock shaft, I would recommend more of a standard weight of 9 or 11 grams. If you go the custom shaft route, now that is a different story!
When I was testing clubs with the Titleist Club fitter, I mentioned to him that my longest driver was something I had years past. It was a Titleist club head with a Pro Force shaft aka "Laker Shaft" since the colors were purple and gold. I gave it to my brother who came to visit me from Korea. It still sits confidently in his golf bag never to be replaced since he cannot find a driver that hits further. So with that being said, the club fitter pulls out a newer version of the Pro Force shaft. It was love at first sight. I've had this combination for about a year now but my restless heart always seems to explore the next best thing.
The Oban Kyoshi 75g purple shaft with cutting edge design has sparked my attention. We will just have to see in the next few weeks if it will team up with my irons until of course, when the next best technology comes along……
